Bilingual Speech Therapy
Bilingual speech therapy is helpful for a child who speaks two languages and is to focus on improving true communication deficits and not trying to correct language patterns that are common for a bilingual child. A bilingual speech therapist must have knowledge of sound acquisition and development of targeted language to provide the most optimal approach to treatment. Oftentimes the strengthening of one language will result in increasing the skills of the second language.
